Ross has recently re-sculptured my 'Berg Larson ' tenor and 'Lakey ' alto mouth pieces respectively. - I've spent a considerable amount of time and money over the years searching for the mouthpiece that really shines. - I now have no need to keep searching. - Thanks to Ross's knowledge and expertise I have found the Holy Grail. For saxophone Mouthpiece Refacing and Repairs contact Ross McIntyre, the Saxman. We have been refacing and repairing Saxophone mouthpieces for some time. We have many refaced pieces in stock and are continually looking for perfection in the facings and interior design. We try to make the mouthpiece play as bright or dark as required by the customer without adding a baffle. However, a baffle may be added on request. Mouthpieces leave our workshop with evenness of scale and timbre from the bottom notes to the highest harmonic. Some of the saxophone mouthpieces that Ross has refaced and repaired are Dukoff Alto mouthpiece and the Dukoff Alto mouthpiece, plus the Lakey Alto saxophone mouthpiece and the Guardala Brecker 1 after twisted tip was straightened refaced and baffle cleaned up, and also the 60's Berg tooth Guard replacement . All pieces are personally tested by Ross before leaving the workshop. Ross McIntyre has been repairing woodwind instruments for 40 years. We started out of necessity as there was no one around to keep his horn playing so it moved from hobby into a professional business. To this day Ross is still the only repairer around the Central Queensland Area that is a professional player. All work is guaranteed and is carried out in our workshop. In September 2004 special guest Richie Cole visited our Emu Park Workshop. Ross repaired Richie Cole's Selmer Super Action 80. nearly every pad was misaligned. It took me nearly 7 hours to get all the pads seating so that feather touch control would instantly seal them.
